I've always been a "Why?" sort of girl. I like to get to the bottom line. I also enjoy the process - the research, the questions, the debate - really love the debate. When all is said and done, I need to know the answer.
I don't like to leave things hanging. I want it all settled, carved in stone, written in black and white - settled. Then I can feel okay and carry on - thank you very much.
So it has been difficult to understand the reason my "Whys" don't always get a definite answer from the Lord. After all, He is all wisdom. Surely He can give me the reasons. That way, even if I don't agree I can at least feel the matter is settled.
He has a way of answering my most difficult questions, the ones that make my heart ache, with His own version of because. He sounds an awful lot like trust when He speaks it.
