St. Patrick's Day in August
Mom had been planning the big St. Patrick's Day supper for days. She bought the corned beef and cabbage and invited us to come. However a couple of days before the big event she fell and broke her hip. I put the meat in her freezer, and the long, slow healing process began.
Tonight we are going to have our St. Patrick's Day supper. We will be thankful and joyful. There is still a way to go - Mom is faithfully going to Physical Therapy and hoping to trade in her walker for a cane soon - but she is doing very well.
So Happy St. Patrick's Day - in August! He turns our sorrows into joy.
Blessings,
Linda

I'll have to remember this one... instead of Christmas in July it's St. Patty's Day in August!! What fun! I guess the timing doesn't really matter anyway-- the celerating is all about the people instead of the date on the calendar, right? And what better way to celebrate than over a shared meal with people you love as you rejoice together in God's healing hand??!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy, Linda... and have a wonderful weekend!
AMEN! Most important to get together and celebrate - doesn't matter what the calendar says! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful you are celebrating with your Mom. Happy St Pats Day!!
ReplyDeleteAnd is that a new quilt in your header?
Blessings - Jan
Now this is living. Doing it when you can, and not just setting it aside because life happens.
ReplyDeleteWonderful.
Yippie!! An upgrade for your mom in the big picture. Tell her to keep up the PT. It can be a bummer but can truely pay off.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
