We arrived thursday morning and drove to the little cabins nestled among the huge oak trees.

We walked down to the river after lunch. We have not recovered from the drought yet, so the water was not as high as it usually is.

We ended the day with a rousing game of badminton. There were actually four of us on a side. We are not exactly professional caliber players and laughed so hard we could hardly stand upright.
There was joy all around us - in the beauty of creation and the time spent together. The best part, for me, was the laughter. What joy to laugh until the tears rolled down my cheeks - when not too long ago they had been tears of sorrow.
"Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; Thou has loosed my sackcloth and girded
me with gladness;
That my soul may sing praise to Thee, and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to Thee forever."
Blessings,
Linda

ReplyDeleteMakes me so happy just reading about it! Sitting here grinning and feeling the joy too!
ReplyDeleteYou paint such a picture with your words, Linda -- took me right there.
You are a joy in my day.

All's grace,

What a wonderful time together in such a beautiful spot. I haven't played badminton in years - used to be fairly good! Many, many years ago.
ReplyDeleteNow that's my kind of family outing! Just perfect, right down the badminton game. Like Dawn, I used to pretty good at it but it's been close to 30 years since I played.
ReplyDeleteMy sister Donna and I hope to go camping in the Ozarks next weekend and also pick muscadine grapes while we're there to make jelly with later. That's assuming the rain finally stops and we don't have to build another ark. And I'm not complaining about the rain either! ;o)
Have a great and joyful weekend, Linda. :o)
Love and hugs,
Diane
i joy and laugh with you, Linda.
ReplyDeletei rejoice in knowing you.
I'm kind of new to reading your blog but I'm enjoying it very much.
ReplyDeleteThe time you just spent with your family sounds like a wonderful time. Relaxing, playing, laughing, and taking a break from our daily routines. Sounds nice.
I liked your post about your car too. Well not the fact that you had to have it towed away but how quickly you stepped into thinking of the goodness of the Lord.
It really is a daily walk we take with the Lord in His teaching us, His word, His grace, His blessings.
