Look Up

In many respects these are difficult days. Whether you keep up with the news on a daily basis or just hear an occasional report, it is almost impossible to avoid the fact that our country is in the midst of upheaval. It seems that everywhere we turn there is disaster, controversy and discontent. It is easy to simply be overwhelmed by it all.

Many are facing financial troubles. There have been devastating weather events – such heartbreaking loss of life. Without getting into politics, there is grave
concern about the direction our country is heading. It is enough to make us lose heart, to feel a bit fearful about the future and to wonder if things will ever be made right...

For the rest of this devotional please visit Laced With Grace. I'm over there today.

  1. I will go over there (o:
    happy BD to your hubby...late
he is a good looking guy but still lucky to have a gal like you (o:

  2. That's one of my very favorite passages, Linda... and one that's so very applicable to this day & age. I agree, it IS so very easy to become undone by current events (and dare I say by our current administration??!), but holy is HE who sits on the throne, and one day, ALL peoples will bow at *His* feet. And what a day that will be!!

Thank you so much for this reminder, my friend... once again, it's one I needed to hear! Hope you have a delightful week ahead ;)

  3. One of the hardest things for me to read and accept in scripture is that we are to revere (and pray for) our governing leader - hard! But it's there.

  4. We have to keep our eyes on the Lord
at all times. We can't give in to fear
because that's when we open ourselves
up to our enemy. The Lord will see us
through. He didn't bring us this far
    to leave us now.
    Good words, Linda.

  5. So important to remember what IS really important during these tough times. Thank you so much for your beautiful words to remind us of this. :)
