Before we can even get the car doors open they are there, spilling out of the house with cries of “Papa! Grandma!” I bend over to grab a little one in my arms, reach up for a hug from a grandson who seems to have grown six inches in the past few weeks, and caress the cheeks of a beautiful granddaughter. Everyone is talking at once as we make our way into the house. There is so much they all want to share.
I feel like the most loved, important person in the world......

Oops! Almost forgot...those bright-
ReplyDeleteeyed kids are just beautiful!! I
see the love in those eyes!
I love what you wrote over at Emily's. Makes me look forward to being a grandmother...but I'm not rushing anything!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful grands! Beautiful post, as usual. I love how the kids rush to me, hollering, "GRANDMA!" as loudly as possible, as if they hadn't seen me in months instead of hours. What a blessing.
ReplyDeletewonderful post.
ReplyDeletebeautiful smiles on the children.
I loved your post for so many reasons... it reminded me of my mom and her feelings for my 3 girls. But mostly, I want so much to realize God's love and thoughts toward me. You said it so beautifully! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo much delight in grandchildren ... headed over to Emily's now.
ReplyDeleteI love Emily's blog and am so happy to meet YOU today! I can't wait to read more of your posts.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Linda - good morning on a beautiful Sunday in August and thank you for your lovely post which overflowed with love, joy and wisdom as seen through a grandmother's heart.
ReplyDeleteYour analogy touched me in a way that makes me examine where I am in my walk. Is the Father my full joy? Reminders such as yours are refreshingly welcome to believing hearts. This great grandmother looks forward to more of what you have to share.

ReplyDeleteand I hope you get the comment there.
I want to be the kind of grandma you are.
