Advent - Day 3

On Day 3 of "The Greatest Gift" Ann asks the question:

"What does it mean to you that God seeks you out and finds you when you are far from Him?"

It comes with an emptiness of heart, a something missing in the deepest place of me - that knowing that I have wandered far from the Father. The strangest part, the sad irony, is the farther I go from Him, the more difficult it is to make my way back. Perhaps it is misplaced pride or an overwhelming sense of guilt. Whatever the cause, the end result is deepening separation from the very One I need the most.

Then comes the glorious surprise. It is He who comes looking for me. Ever so softly the Lord whispers my name, gently drawing me, by His Spirit, back to Himself.

And isn't it the wonder of Christmas? He came seeking us.

Blessings,
Linda
