It feels as though the whole world is groaning - crying out in pain for the end of injustice and evil and the balm of righteousness and peace.
We look for answers - a way to make things right and just. In our humanity we try desperately to find a way.
In Romans 7, Paul laments his inability to do the things he knows are good and right. Then, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, he shows us the way. He addresses our fears and sense of hopelessness, our bitterness and insecurities.
The underlying truth within the answer is a changed heart - a heart surrendered to God. We can’t make things new in our own strength. Lasting change only comes through His work in and through us.
Our world is groaning and healing can only be found in God- His love and kindness flowing through us to the ones He brings into our lives, His light shining through those who trust in Him, breaking through the darkness.
“The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5
