I am a few days late getting started, but I am taking part in Ann Kroeker's Mega Memory Month. She has things all set up on her blog - tips to help with memorizing, places to post progress and links to others who will share in this adventure. We can encourage one another along the way.
I did some memory work last year, memorizing a verse or two every other week. It made such a difference in my life, and I am eager to take on a little more. I find it really helpful to write out the verses on index cards and then carry them with me as I go for my walk. That gives me about 45 minutes to go over the verses. And I actually learned them - me!!
The best part was the way the Lord used each verse to speak to me all through the year. Each one had such relevance to the places I was walking. I encourage you to participate. The blessings are immeasurable.
Blessings,
Linda
Hi Linda! I'm joining you in Ann's challenge. It's nice to meet you. :-)

You can never go wrong memorizing Scripture! Great idea for the new year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great challenge. I haven't worked on , for so many years. It's intimidating at this age, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI am going to memorize Scripture again this year. So glad I did it last year. Happy New Year! Don't freeze your socks off this week.
ReplyDeleteI like verses on memory cards. This simple technique has worked in a mighty way on my growth as a Christian.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your memorizing. It is to cold to walk here. 9degrees...yikes... Squeak, Squeak, the snow goes as you walk on it (o:
ReplyDeleteDoes it count if we are memorizing poems? That's kind of what's on my mind right now. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not able to walk these days, mostly because of the ice and cold, but that shouldn't stop me from memorizing verses. Thank you for presenting this challenge, Linda. I hope the Lord will use it to stir my heart in this needed direction. Say a prayer for me!
ReplyDeleteI have index cards of Scripture verses at my desk to read them over and over. When a particular verse I read 'speaks' to me, I write it on a new index card :)
