Besetting sin,
familiar phrase
falling glibly off the tongue.
What does it mean:
habitual, ingrained, deep-seated,
persistent, ineradicable.
Begging forgiveness
over and over
for habitual, ingrained, deep-seated
persistent......
but ineradicable?
surely not, please Lord.
Even these willful,
rebellious acts,
that I excuse with
"not really big,"
are covered by grace
and that blood, spilled ?
Yes, grace sufficient
and love deep,
compelling me to
count the cost,
to measure with true scale,
to turn.
