Advent - Day 5

"In what ways have other people overflowed God's grace into your life." Ann Voskamp

It is the fifth day of advent, the first Friday in December, and for me it means gathering with a small group of dear friends. We arrive early and work together to prepare lunch. It never varies from one year to the next - a symmetry we have come to cherish.

I came needy this year - for the sure love and encouragement that comes from hearts that have been knit together over time and shared experiences. They encircled me. I felt the warmth of their touch and the words of their prayers fell like grace into my life.

  1. Linda I liked the question so much have shared on FB and asked friends to answer it.

    LOVE your posts, always.

My answer to "How does it feel to picture the tears of God, to know that He suffers alongside you?"

It takes a way the " being alone" feeling I have, living alone. It opens my eyes to the reality that God NEVER leaves me nor forsakes me, and that He is always present with me by His blessed Holy Spirit.: I am comforted, held, loved, cherished even.....all my genuine needs are answered in Him. No wonder I love Him !

  2. Mary, this is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your words. Your love for Him just shines through, and it encourages my heart. He is faithful; He is love; He is all we need.
