Joy Challenge - Day Seven - Sing Joy!

When I was a little girl, sitting on my little wooden chair in Sunday School I learned a little song about joy:

JOY

Jesus and others and you, what a wonderful way to spell joy.
Jesus and others and you, in the heart of each girl and each boy.
J is for Jesus for He has first place.
O is for others we meet face to face.
Y is for you in whatever you do, put yourself last
That spells joy.

There is a powerful truth in that little song. We are happiest when we can put self in its proper place and serve others. I have found that so much of my thinking is backwards when compared to the way Jesus taught us to live.

One would think that there would be great joy in the getting of things, when in reality there is far more joy in the giving.

That's just the way it is!
