Joy Challenge - Day 30 - The Prayers of Friends

Dad was moved to a beautiful rehab facility today. He is all settled in and is already showing improvement. My Mom is so encouraged.
God is good. Thank you for praying.

Just a little note to thank you for your prayers dear friends. I haven't had the time to write a long post, so I've been using my Facebook page. I know not everyone reads that, so I thought I would write a quick update here.

My Dad was hospitalized last friday with terrible pain in his upper back. The doctors were concerned about his heart, so they did a battery of tests. The tests were very hard on him and in the end showed that there was no problem with his heart.

He has had three falls in the past couple of weeks, and they now think that he must have aggravated a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder. We are relieved it isn't his heart, but it has taken a real toll on my Dad.

They will be transferring him to a rehab facility tomorrow. He has gotten so weak he cannot even stand on his own, so he really cannot go home yet. We're praying that he will be able to get his strength back. We're also praying for strength and grace for my Mom. She is taking this very hard.

So many dear friends have been praying. It is so encouraging. What joy to know that others are praying for you. Thank you so very much.

  1. There are so many critical needs out there in blogland - it is so wonderful to have the prayers of people we have never met and probably won't until we meet in heaven!

  2. Linda...I just read a couple of your comments on some friends' blogs, and I realized things were not going well with your dad. Thank you for updating here. I'll be praying, dear friend. May you rest in His hands, for they are there...waiting...longing...to hold you all.

    much love to you today.

  3. May God heal your dad quickly and completely!

  4. Linda.. such good news that it isn't something with his heart! Thank you God!! I will keep your family in my prayers.

  5. Linda...so sorry, your situation really tugs on my heart...will be in prayer...

  6. Your Dad has had such a hard time of it this year. I know it is hard on your Mom too. Sorry for the pain you are all experiencing. Prayers go up (o:

  7. Definitely keeping y'all in our prayers. Am glad to know it wasn't his heart though.

  8. I will be praying for your parents as well. It can be such a difficult time of life, and certainly it must be hard for a child to watch her parents go through the trials. You are in my prayers as well, Linda. Your sweet demeanor and strong faith continue to shine through you.
