Praise Him! Praise Him!

In a world that seems to have tilted out of control in recent months, it is all too easy to become discouraged and feel weighted down. If I take just a moment to change my perspective and look heaven-ward, to see the One who holds all things, ALL THINGS, in His mighty hands I find my spirits lifting. When I remember who He is and what His love has done in my life, everything else fades into the background.

And in the remembering, my heart cannot help but praise Him.

This hymn is another written by Fanny Crosby. I am so grateful that rather than becoming bitter over her lot in life, she chose to trust the Father and give her heart to Him. He, in turn, filled her and used her to bring blessing beyond anything she could have imagined.

It should be such an encouragement to us to see what God can do with a life fully surrendered to Him.

1 Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer!
Sing, O Earth,His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! hail Him!
highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy name!
Like a shepherd Jesus will guard his children,
in His arms he carries them all day long:

Praise Him! praise Him!
tell of His excellent greatness;
praise Him! praise Him
ever in joyful song!

2 Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer!
For our sins He suffered, and bled and died;
He our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation,
Hail Him! Hail Him!
Jesus the Crucified.
Sound his praises! Jesus who bore our sorrows,
love unbounded, wonderful deep and strong: (Refrain)

3 Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer!
Heavenly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever;
crown Him! crown Him!
Prophet and Priest and King!
Christ is coming! over the world victorious,
power and glory unto the Lord belong: (Refrain)

"I will praise the Lord all my life, I will sing praise to my God as long as I live." (Psalm 146:2)

  1. Don't think Fanny ever
    wrote a song I didn't
    love. This one is no
    exception. Thanks for
    sharing it, Linda, and
    a big "Amen" to all you
    attested to today.

  2. Linda, I'm so glad you featured another song by Fannie Crosby. They're all beautiful!! Oh to have a faith like yours!

  3. Thank you.... Linda for your encouragement.... I so appreciate it.

    much love,

  4. I'm not familiar with this one---doesn't mean I never sang it, just that it never made it into that vault in my heart of the songs that Dad favored.
    It's a "pick me up" one, that's for sure. I always feel better after I praise Him, regardless of my circumstances.
    Fanny was an awesome lady.
    Thanks for once more educating me. :-)

  5. it has been a long time since i sang this hymn...thanks for bringing it back, i can still hear it...

  6. I'll never forget the first time I played it for church - I started playing when I was only 8 - I have blogged about it before. I think I was a young teen when I played it, and it had a lot of notes in quick order - I was a nervous wreck when I played the intro.

    We sang a Fanny song this morning - Pass Me Not - we didn't sing that one much even when we sang hymns exclusively. Have you ever seen the movie about her life? Really good.
