For A Season

They grow silently as the days warm toward Spring, and we are unaware. Then one day while driving through the neighborhood we spy them, beautiful lavender blooms against a green backdrop. It seems they have appeared overnight.

Days pass in a slow stroll, and the branches hang heavy with flowers. The winds blow through, and the air is filled with their fragrance. It smells like grape. Imagine grape flavor in perfume form. It is beautifully subtle. I walk by and it fills my heart with an inexplicable joy...

Please continue reading at Laced With Grace today. You bless me more than I can ever say.

Blessings,
Linda

  1. Spring is rather bipolar around here, but watching those flowers pushing their way up through the hard ground and bringing us such beauty is such a thrill every year!

Have so much fun with your daughter and SIL - and then moving!!

  2. I believe these are mountain laurel. We had one planted in our front yard when we redid our lawn. By the way, Zoysa grass that has an irrigation system is great! Even before the rain all started, it stayed looking green throughout the winter. We finally had the best looking grass in the neighborhood.
